HR person: So tell me a bit about yourself.Interviewee: I’d rather not. I really need this job.

Every McDonalds should have a flag they fly at half staff when the ice cream machine is broken.

Not to brag, but I just went into another room and remembered why I went in there.

Starbucks is planning on selling beer and wine.Apparently, it’s getting difficult to sell sober people coffee at $12 a cup.

I just found out the neighborhood had a meeting about a crazy person on the block.I can’t figure out why they didn’t invite me.

I know the voices aren’t real, but man, do they come up with some great ideas.

Let’s have a moment of silence for all those who are stuck in traffic on their way to the gym to ride stationary bikes.

Apparently, this guy at the mall was just tying his shoe and did NOT want to play leapfrog.

Me: The internet used to come in through the phone. It made a terrible noise, like robots screaming.Grandson: Hush Grandpa, take your pills.

I got my daughter a refrigerator for her birthday. I can’t wait to see her face light up when she opens it.

I was an accountant from the age of 21 until I was sacked for no apparent reason at the age of 30. Total waste of 14 years.

I do all my own stunts, but never intentionally.

Snow in November happens because people decorate for Christmas prematurely. You know who you are.STOP IT!

Wrong Things

On this day in 1960, Patsy Cline recorded ‘I Fall to Pieces’. Released on the Decca label in 1960 it topped the country charts and crossed over to the pop charts becoming one of her biggest hits. As the song was climbing the charts, Cline was injured in a near fatal automobile accident and was unable to perform the song for several months. Here she is!

I wonder how much it would cost in USA to fix this without insurance... Probably around $60,000 at least.

Sorry, but I need to vent! I recently experienced the WORST customer service today at a local store.

I don’t want to mention the name of the store because I’m not sure how I’m going to proceed.
Yesterday I bought something from this store. I paid cash for it.

I took it home and found out it didn’t work.

So today, less than 24 hours later I took it back to the store and asked if I could get a refund.
The girl working at the store told me “Sorry but NO” even though I still had the receipt.

I then asked if I could get a replacement instead?
Again this person told me emphatically, “NO.”

I then asked to talk to a manager as I was really not happy and I explained that I had just bought the item, had got it home and it didn’t work.

The manager just smiled and had the audacity to tell me to my face that I was “OUT OF LUCK.”
No refund.

No FREE replacement.

Grrrrrrrrr.

I’ll tell you what…I am NEVER buying another Lottery Ticket from there again.

Today is the birthday, in 1931, of Clyde McPhatter from The Drifters.

FRIDAYfridayFRIDAYfridayFRIDAY

Today is Independence Day in Angola. After a long and bloody war, Portugal granted Angola independence on November 12, 1975. The United States did not recognize the Angolan government for another 18 years because we thought they were evil commies.

A little irony…

Today is the birthday, in 1945, of Neil Young, Canadian singer, song-writer and activist. He performed both individually and with a number of bands – Buffalo Springfield, Crazy Horse, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young and so forth. I was a bit torn this morning about which video to post, so here are two – Ohio written by him and performed by Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young and Heart of Gold performed by him and a backup band at Farm Aid. I like Heart of Gold but Ohio is so wrenching and brings back such memories….
