We watched ‘Queen’s Gambit’ recently and liked it a lot. One of the scenes in it included a clip of a song by Gillian Hills – one of the hot French singers from the early sixties. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

Somehow I missed that yesterday was the anniversary of the death (in 1791) of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart – a musical genius. He composed more than 600 pieces in a wide variety of styles including many number one hits of the time. We all know some of his music although we may not recognize it as being Mozart. Here are a few pieces of his that I like and I hope you will too.

This amazing performance of Rondo Alla Turca

And this…Piano Sonata 16

Here is his Rondo in D Major

And now let’s have Eine Kleine Nachtmusik

How about the Overture to the Marriage of Figaro?

Amazing stuff, isn’t it? Which is your favorite? What would you have included? Let me know!
