Today is Micronesia Culture Day, a public holiday in Micronesia. On this day, celebrations are held all across Micronesia’s four regions. These may include concerts, festivals, seminars, or exhibits. And because food plays an important role in every culture, there are a variety of foods that can be enjoyed all across Micronesia on this day. Dishes that incorporate the main staples of the island such as yam, bread-fruit, taro, coconuts, and bananas, as well as pigs, chicken, and seafood.
