WEDNESDAY in the middle of the week

Today is Sovereignty Day in Serbia. Sovereignty Day of Serbia (Dan državnosti Srbije) is celebrated on February 15th. It is a two-day holiday and is the National Day of Serbia. It marks the anniversary of the First Serbian Uprising (against Turkish rule) in 1804 and the first Serbian Constitution in 1835. It wasn’t until 1867 that the last Turkish troops left Serbia.

Today is the birthday, in 1946, of Barry Manilow, whom I consider to be one of the most annoying singers ever. But it’s also the birthday of Greg Rolie, one of the founding members of Santana. You can see/hear him playing keyboard in this song.
