Today is Independence Day, a public holiday in Liberia. The date commemorates the adoption of the Liberian Constitution and declaration of independence in 1947.

Bada Bing!

My husband said he did a double take when he first met me. But I’ve also seen him do a double take on a free pile of dirt.

Maintenance came by today but only left a note. The note said, “Black cat said NO!”

Me: How many loads of laundry can this thing hold? Salesperson: Ummm… This is a dining table. Me: And?

it’s……….FRIDAY!!!!!

Today is Sarawak Day, a public holiday in Malaysia. This day marks the start of the period of self-governance for Sarawak in 1963. On July 22nd 1963, Sarawak attained self-government from the British Empire. Sarawak only remained self-governing for less than two months until September 16th 1963, when it formed Malaysia together with North Borneo, Singapore and Malaya.

THURSDAY is HOT

Today is Belgian Independence Day. Independence Day celebrates the separation of Belgium from the Netherlands in 1831, as well as the formal establishment of the Kingdom.

New name for it?

Today is the birthday, in 1948, of Cat Stevens. He wrote ‘The First Cut Is The Deepest’ covered by many artists including PP Arnold, Rod Stewart and Sheryl Crow. Stevens converted to the Muslim religion in 1977 changing his name to Yusef Islam. Here is one of his early hits.

Welcome to Wednesday!

Today is Independence Day in Colombia. It marks the start of the movement to independence from Spain in 1810 with an uprising in Bogota. That afternoon the People’s Junta was formed.
